PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY
2nd Sunday of each month, 12:00 - 2:00 pm
The care and the love of knitting (crocheting, sewing, etc.) have been combined into a prayerful ministry that reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace. Many blessings are knitted into every shawl. The knitter begins each shawl with prayers for the recipient. Intentions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl. When the shawl is completed it is offered a final prayer blessing before being sent along its way.
In the past, as this gift has been sent, some recipients have continued the kindness by making one themselves and passing it onto someone else in need. Thus, the blessing is rippled from person to person, with both the giver and receiver feeling the unconditional embrace of a sheltering, mothering God.
This ever-expanding global ministry is being introduced at Common Ground by Rebecca Gibson. At the monthly gatherings, the group will continue to bless and pray over the shawls expanding and amplifying the compassion and loved placed into each one by its maker.
You are welcome to bring a snack or lunch and we will provide beverages. You can either bring your own materials or use what has been donated. Lessons will be provided to those wanting to learn how to knit or crochet. Patterns and sample prayers are also available. Completed shawls are blessed at each meeting and then stored at Common Ground until a request has been received.

Courtesy of Jean Holmes, Common Ground Corona has developed a volunteer program in which everyone can participate! Currently, once a month, we are holding a drumming session at Valencia Terrace, a senior facility located on Main Street in Corona.
Valencia Terrace is always open to additional volunteers as well. Please contact Jean Holmes if you're interested in attending or if you'd like additional information. We look forward to having you serve on our volunteer team.

The evening consists of various modalities of energy healing: Divine Light, Pranic Healing and Reiki. You are able to learn about and experience these different modalities.
This evening is offered on a donation basis. Please arrive anytime after 6:30 pm to sign-up for a time slot (healings are scheduled on the hour).
